Black Lives Matter Documentary

This video explores the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Movement, one of the most influential social movements of the 21st century, and examines its impact within society, social media, and other digital and artistic representations. Beginning in 2013, after the acquittal in the killing of a young African American boy, Trayvon Martin, the movement spread rapidly with the hashtag (#BlackLivesMatter). It called justification for the urgent need for Black Lives to be valued, protected, and treated with dignity. The BLM movement has influenced activists around the world to protest police violence, advocate for racial equity, and empower Black communities through meaningful social change. The movement has also inspired design within digital culture and the arts to highlight Black voices and lived experiences. The BLM movement has also had some backlash suggesting that only Black Lives Matter, leading to misunderstandings. Its mission prioritizes restoring systemic injustice and protecting innocent lives. Avoiding ignorance by educating the public about the history of Black oppression is an important step to healing, fostering empathy, and most importantly, working toward restoring democracy.
